The objective of this research is to investigate the feasibility of leveraging electronic dental record data from solo or small group US dental practices for clinical research and quality improvement purposes. This study will recruit 100 National Dental Practice-based Research Network practices who use Dentrix or EagleSoft during patient care to share their de-identified electronic dental record data of patients who received posterior composite restorations or/and root canal treatments in permanent teeth. This data will be used to determine the survival rates of posterior composite restorations and root canal treatments performed on permanent teeth.
