Abstract

The original version of this article omitted references to previous work in ‘Bondar, T. &s Medzhitov, R. p53-mediated hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell competition. Cell Stem Cell 6, 309–322 (2010)’ and ‘Marusyk, A., Porter, C. C., Zaberezhnyy, V. & DeGregori, J. Irradiation selects for p53-deficient hematopoietic progenitors. PLoS Biol. 8, e1000324 (2010)’. These have been added as references 23 and 24 in the Introduction, the original sentence ‘We discovered that mutant p53 enhances the repopulating potential of HSPCs22’ has been amended to ‘We discovered that mutant p53 enhances the repopulating potential of HSPCs22, similar to what has been reported previously23,24.’ This has been corrected in the PDF and HTML versions of the article.
