A Chinese cancer tissue bank management system

Abstract

High-quality cancer tissue specimens are important for clinical diagnosis, translational research, and basic scientific studies. This paper will briefly introduce the data collection and management of a collaborative cancer tissue bank: the Chinese Cancer Bank (ChiCanBank) for cancer tissue samples, blood samples, and their derivatives. The database design, the collaborative network, the potential clinical applications and the auxiliary functions, such as population study and statistical result representation are demonstrated.
