Abstract

Multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating disorder characterized by multiple inflammatory plaques of demyelination that involve the white matter of the brain and spinal cord. This article presents the history of the disorder, its clinical and neuropathologic features, diagnostic criteria, and treatment approaches.
