In recent years, combination chemotherapy regimens have produced major gains in remission rate and survival in disseminated testicular cancer. One of the most widely used regimens has been vinblastine plus bleomycin. During this same time period, the authors have had the opportunity to evaluate patients who failed to respond to vinblastine plus bleomycin. DDP has significant activity as a single agent in testicular cancer. Adriamycin also has been shown to have activity in testicular cancer and may be synergistic when combined with DDP. This report describes their results with adriamycin and DDP in refractory germinal neoplasms.
