Abstract

The light-scattering technique provides a convenient way of continuously monitoring configurational changes during the energy cycle of mitochondria and submitochondrial particles. The available evidence strongly suggests the view that under the appropriately controlled conditions of our experiments the light-scattering changes in mitochondria and ETPH reflect primarily configurational changes in the membranes.
