Abstract

A 67-year-old man with metastatic renal cell carcinoma and recent fever underwent an In-111 labeled leukocyte scan to find a source of infection. Increased activity was demonstrated in numerous metastatic soft tissue nodules. Although In-111 labeled leukocyte uptake by tumor has been described, uptake by renal cell carcinoma is extremely rare. Uptake by metastatic renal sell carcinoma without interleukin-2 therapy has not been previously reported.
