Abstract

Available treatments for AD target its symptoms but do not significantly alter its course. Although today's treatments are greatly improved, a successful disease-modifying treatment for AD is desperately needed in the face of its rising prevalence and the enormous burdens it places on individuals and society. Fortunately, many promising avenues exist for development of a definitive treatment for this devastating disease.
