Abstract

A revised structural model for R17 virus is proposed. This model accounts for the surface morphology of R17 as observed by electron microscopy and also for the 11 S component derived from the virus by guanidine-HCl dissociation. The significant advantage of this model over previous proposals is that the subunits are located in quasi-equivalent bonding domains.
