Abstract

In this article some of the difficulties posed by this group of disorders are addressed. These include the problems regarding classification of the organic brain disorders within the framework of psychiatric illness, the nature of the relationship between organic illness and psychiatric syndromes as exemplified in the affective and schizophreniform disorders, and the dangers of misdiagnosis.
