Abstract

Statement of Purpose: Immunotargeted nanoparticle (NP) imaging probes have been investigated for contrast-enhanced radiographic imaging [1]. For example, gold (Au) NPs conjugated with anti-HER2 antibodies enabled radiographic imaging of HER2+ cells and tumors [2]. In clinical oncology, immunotargeted NPs could be used to improve preoperative staging and postoperative evaluation of therapeutic response. However, despite this growing interest, the radiographic detection limits remain unknown. Therefore, the objective of this research was to investigate radiographic detection limits for HER2+ cells immunotargeted by Au NPs.
