Abstract

The technical performance of colonoscopy differs substantially between unsedated patients and patients with moderate and deep sedation. A skilled colonoscopist should be able to perform unsedated colonoscopy and provide colonoscopy with either moderate or deep sedation, as is best suited for the individual patient.
