We report a female infant born with congenital fusion of the gums and jaws. An autopsy performed at 6 months of age revealed the maxilla and mandible were fused into a single bone. The ears were well formed and located at the normal position. These findings, to our knowledge, have not been reported previously. The development of the jaw fusion is discussed.
